Go to school, get a degree, then get a job, and you’ll be set for life. How many times have you heard this narrative? The traditional narrative to the “American Dream” needs to be extended and modified. Other options and routes to “success” need to be discussed. College does not guarantee success and it does not determine your worth. 

Museums have made progress with creating more diverse, relevant and inclusive exhibits, but a few exhibitions like Mining the Museum were exhibited during a time of high omission and high elitism, and I wish I could have experienced them all! 

Being a cognizant and empathetic person, I am highly affected by the recent events and cannot turn a blind eye to what's going on around me. Who knew that visiting a museum during the age of COVID-19 was just what I needed to find the motivation for this Museum's Monday blog post.
